Magical Photo Tours organizes exclusive, guided photography trips to South Africa for anyone looking to combine nature, safari, and photography. The focus is on immersive wildlife experiences in private nature reserves adjacent to the world-renowned Kruger National Park, professional guidance, photographic training, and luxurious safari lodges.

  • The journey takes you to South Africa, to two world-renowned private nature reserves in the Greater Kruger National Park. There, you will experience safari in one of the most species-rich regions of southern Africa.

  • A maximum of eight photographers can participate. All are seated on the same side of the vehicle (from five participants onwards, two vehicles are used). This ensures a highly personal and immersive travel experience with individual support.

    In addition, up to four accompanying persons can join. Wildlife viewing is a magical experience even without a camera. Thanks to the spacious vehicles, there is plenty of room for everyone. We also always keep a respectful distance from the animals for ethical reasons, ensuring that no one’s view is obstructed.

  • Two experts will accompany this journey:

    • Jacqueline: Swiss tour leader, South Africa expert, passionate wildlife photographer, graphic designer, and specialist in image editing. She will also assist as a translator if English is not your preferred language.

    • Danny: South African, university graduate in photography, and certified nature guide.

    • A total of 12 game drives in an open safari vehicle

    • Wildlife viewing in private nature reserves of the Greater Kruger National Park

    • Wildlife photography during safaris, with expert support if desired

    • Experiencing African wildlife in its natural habitat

Photography

  • No. This trip is suitable for both beginners and advanced photographers. Your expert guides provide tailored input for every skill level.

    • Camera settings for wildlife photography

    • Composition in nature and within a safari context

    • Working with natural light in the African bush

    • Hands-on photography during safaris

    • Improving your photographic eye in real-life situations

  • A camera with manual settings is sufficient. Lenses suitable for wildlife photography (e.g. a telephoto lens) are recommended, but not essential.

Accommodation & Comfort

  • We stay in exclusive safari lodges set in the heart of nature. The accommodations offer comfort, tranquillity, and an authentic safari experience. You will be well taken care of and truly pampered by the warm and attentive staff.

  • Yes, the trip includes full board throughout your entire stay at the lodges. This also includes drinks (with the exception of certain premium alcoholic brands).

  • The lodges provide electricity and Wi-Fi, and there are plenty of power outlets available. However, the focus is intentionally on experiencing nature, tranquillity, and slowing down.
