The Lions of Timbavati & the Leopards of Sabi Sands
Two of the most famous wild reserves in the Greater Kruger, two of Africa’s most fascinating big cats – all in one journey.
Timbavati is renowned for its lions. Sabi Sands is considered worldwide as one of the best places to observe and photograph leopards in the wild.
In between: two nights in a boutique lodge featuring a generous spa and an enchanting garden – time to catch your breath, attend an image editing workshop, or simply do nothing at all.

At Eye Level
Photography from the Hide – at ground level, by the water, in silence. This journey revolves around a different way of seeing: not searching for the animal, but waiting for it to come to you.
The boutique lodge with a hide in the Greater Kruger is the photographic centrepiece: elephants, birds, antelopes, and more – from a perspective that no vehicle can provide. This is complemented by daily game drives with varying focuses, individual photography feedback, and ample time for image editing workshops.
In the second half of the tour, we embark on a classic safari in Timbavati, a private nature reserve famous for its lions.
This experience is designed for those who desire creative freedom and deep immersion.

Our family recently had the privilege of spending four unforgettable days at Antares Bush Camp in the beautiful Balule Game Reserve, all arranged through Jacqueline Niggemeier and Magical Photo Tours.
From beginning to end, the entire experience was exceptional. Every detail had been thoughtfully considered and taken care of, allowing us to simply relax, enjoy our time together as a family and take in everything the bush had to offer.

Antares Bush Camp was an incredible setting for our stay and the food deserves a special mention — every meal was absolutely amazing and added so much to the overall experience.
What really made the four days special, though, was the care and attention that Jacqueline put into making sure our holiday was memorable.
There is a big difference between simply booking a trip and having someone create an experience for you, and this certainly felt like the latter.

To our great joy, our son discovered his passion for photography during our stay at Antares. Jacqueline was able to show him some tweaks and tricks with the camera and to point his eye to interesting framings.
We came home with wonderful memories, incredible experiences and a genuine appreciation for how special our time in the bush had been.

This trip was a very special experience for me as a wildlife photographer. The encounters with the animals, especially the elephant herds, were incredibly intense and moving. I was able to share this fascination for the bush and its inhabitants with Jacqueline. Every game drive, and especially the Umgede Hide, held many surprises. Capturing these special moments photographically is an absolute highlight and a must for every photographer and nature lover. A perfectly organized trip that will remain in my memory for a long time. »
